The strike UAV squad leader runs the crews that hit targets with unmanned aircraft and personally flies drones on strike sorties. The role includes assigning tasks to crews, checking their pre-flight preparation, adjusting artillery fire based on what is seen from the air and keeping records of results for reports to the command.
Responsibilities
- organising the work of a strike UAV squad and keeping it combat-ready;
- remotely piloting drones to strike targets;
- adjusting artillery fire onto detected hostile positions and equipment;
- operating unmanned aircraft systems of different types;
- assigning tasks to crews and checking their preparation for sorties;
- keeping records of sortie results and reporting to the command.
Requirements
- readiness to carry out combat tasks in areas of active hostilities;
- understanding of how a drone is built and the specifics of strike systems;
- map-reading and navigation by coordinates and landmarks;
- ability to lead subordinates and maintain discipline within crews;
- stress resilience and the ability to handle large volumes of information;
- prior drone or combat experience is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already in military service;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- housing and meals provided, full material support;
- travel to the unit's location arranged by the unit;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
