
Long-Range Strike UAV Operator

The long-range strike UAV operator guides an unmanned aircraft to a target far beyond the line of contact. The operator studies the target from reconnaissance data, prepares the aircraft and its warhead for launch, monitors the flight along the route and, on the final leg, confirms the target through the camera and brings the sortie to a hit. The work calls for sustained focus.
Responsibilities
- studying and confirming the target by coordinates, type of object and vulnerable points;
- checking and arming the detonation system and securely mounting the warhead;
- assembling the aircraft and launching it, including from a catapult or special launchers;
- checking that the drone enters the set route and that the autopilot is working;
- tracking speed, altitude and battery charge and adjusting the route;
- confirming the target with daylight and thermal cameras on the final leg of the flight;
- switching to manual control or visual guidance for a precise strike.
Requirements
- readiness to carry out combat tasks in areas of active hostilities;
- understanding of how a drone is built and how its onboard systems work;
- map-reading and navigation by coordinates and landmarks;
- focus and stress resilience during long sorties;
- ability to handle large volumes of information;
- piloting or simulator experience is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already in military service;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- housing, meals and full material support;
- travel to the unit's location is organised;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
