The external pilot of an unmanned aircraft system prepares the aircraft for flight, controls it during take-off and landing and keeps it within visual line of sight while the operator carries out the mission. Works as part of a crew on reconnaissance, observation and artillery fire correction in the field, and is responsible for keeping the system serviceable between flights.
Responsibilities
- controlling the unmanned aircraft during take-off and landing on combat missions;
- preparing the system for work: charging batteries and checking its condition;
- setting up communication links and pre-flight checks of the equipment;
- monitoring the flight within visual line of sight;
- taking part in reconnaissance, artillery fire correction and observation of enemy activity;
- keeping the system intact and serviceable in field conditions;
- logging completed flights and recording mission results.
Requirements
- experience with unmanned aircraft systems such as Leleka-100, Fury, PD-2 or Shark;
- ability to navigate on the ground and read maps;
- category B driving licence and driving skills;
- physical endurance and readiness to work in field conditions;
- secondary or higher technical education;
- experience with Mission Planner, UgCS or QGroundControl is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 70,000 to UAH 120,000;
