A UAV Instructor trains personnel in the theory and practical use of unmanned systems, delivering instruction under approved programs and preparing crews for mission tasks. The role includes developing training materials, supporting UAV technical readiness, maintaining documentation, and incorporating current operational experience into training.
Responsibilities
- deliver classroom instruction and practical field training under approved programs;
- perform pre- and post-flight checks, maintenance, configuration, and test flights of UAVs;
- develop training materials, missions, and flight routes, and account for weather conditions during planning;
- train teamwork and UAV employment tactics, including reconnaissance, fire adjustment support, and strike missions;
- process training data and maintain operational and training documentation;
- incorporate current operational lessons into the training process.
Requirements
- experience piloting various types of UAVs, with combat application experience as an advantage;
- prior military service will be an advantage;
- skills in UAV setup and minor repairs, with basic knowledge of aerodynamics, electronics, radio communications, and navigation;
- ability to train personnel with different skill levels, with teaching experience as an advantage;
- ability to operate under electronic warfare conditions;
- stress tolerance and responsibility.
Conditions
- military service under contract or within a mobilization framework;
- transfer options for currently serving personnel subject to command approval;
- provision of required equipment and service gear;
- training and preparation before starting duties in the role;
- annual leave in accordance with Ukrainian law;
- service within an unmanned systems unit.
