
Communications Section System Administrator

The communications section system administrator sets up and maintains the unit's networks directly at positions: from local networks and access points to satellite terminals and backup LTE links. The role also covers the crews' computers and radios. This is field work, often under time pressure, where the mission depends on the connection staying up.
Responsibilities
- deploying, configuring and maintaining the unit's local networks at positions;
- servicing routers, switches, gateways and Wi-Fi access points;
- connecting Starlink satellite terminals and bringing them onto the network;
- setting up backup communication links such as LTE and radio relay lines;
- installing and administering Windows and Linux on workstations and servers;
- servicing desktops, laptops and tablets, including diagnostics and minor repairs;
- programming and maintaining digital and analogue radios.
Requirements
- understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models and routing principles;
- administrator-level knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Linux;
- experience with MikroTik or Ubiquiti equipment;
- skills in running and crimping network cables;
- experience setting up and troubleshooting Starlink terminals;
- ability to program radios using CPS software;
- readiness to work in the field as part of the unit.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, subject to the commander's approval;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
