Auto Mechanic

The auto mechanic keeps the brigade's vehicles in working order, which supply and evacuation runs depend on: diagnoses faults, repairs suspension, engines, fuel and brake systems and carries out scheduled maintenance. The work takes place in a repair shop away from the front line, using hand, pneumatic and power tools.
Responsibilities
- diagnosing and locating faults in vehicles;
- repairing the running gear and suspension parts: shock absorbers, bushings, bearings;
- servicing engines, replacing timing belts and chains;
- repairing fuel systems and overhauling internal combustion engines;
- scheduled maintenance with replacement of oils, fluids and filters;
- servicing brake systems: replacing pads, discs and calipers.
Requirements
- understanding of how vehicles of different makes are built and how their assemblies work;
- experience in repairing and servicing vehicles;
- skills with hand, pneumatic and power tools;
- ability to read technical drawings, electrical and hydraulic diagrams;
- accuracy and responsibility for the quality of completed repairs.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, subject to the commander's approval;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 50,000;
- service at a distance from the front line;
- housing provided;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;
- 15 days of leave every six months.
