
Embedded Systems Engineer for Ground Robotic Systems

The embedded systems engineer writes and debugs firmware for the controllers of the brigade's ground robotic systems and sets up data exchange between the vehicle's modules. Also diagnoses mechanical, electrical and electronic faults and services drives, sensors and cable harnesses. The code is tested not only on the bench but by how the vehicle behaves after a combat mission.
Responsibilities
- developing and debugging firmware in C and C++ for ground robotic system controllers;
- implementing data exchange between modules over UART, CAN, RS-485, SPI and I²C;
- diagnosing faults in the vehicle's mechanical, electrical and electronic systems;
- servicing and repairing drives, controllers, sensors and cable harnesses;
- checking power systems, batteries and charging equipment;
- analysing the causes of overheating, loss of traction, vibration and overloads.
Requirements
- working knowledge of C and C++ at developer level;
- understanding of microcontroller architecture: memory, timers, interrupts;
- knowledge of the UART, CAN, RS-485, SPI, I²C and PWM interfaces;
- understanding of how sensors, encoders and motor controllers work;
- basic knowledge of digital and analogue electronics;
- ability to read circuit diagrams and technical documentation;
- experience with Git, a multimeter, an oscilloscope or a logic analyser.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization for the duration of martial law; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- uniform, equipment, meals and materiel provided;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
