427th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems “Rarog”
“Rarog” is a young unmanned systems brigade, already with a legendary history. Avoiding public exposure among civilians, the unit has earned strong authority within the military.
History
From a company within the 24th Separate Brigade named after King Danylo to a separate unmanned systems brigade. The core of the unit consists of combat-experienced service members who progressed from infantry roles to UAV specialists, as well as narrowly focused experts with strong civilian skill sets adapted to the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The unit distinguished itself through high effectiveness during the defense of Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and New York. Its record includes hundreds of destroyed enemy vehicles of various types and significant enemy personnel losses, consistently placing “Rarog” in the Top 10.
High discipline and the prioritization of service member safety have ensured maximum results with unprecedentedly low losses.
The three pillars of the unit are:
- The value of life and health of personnel;
- Mission execution — from combat tasks to comprehensive support of infantry;
- Never lose an aircraft.

Oleh “Hasan” Huit
The commander of the “Rarog” Brigade is Lieutenant Colonel Oleh “Hasan” Huit — Hero of Ukraine, a recipient of the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class. He successfully applied his combat experience from 2014–2016 during the full-scale invasion while serving in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade. There, he retrained and transitioned to modern drone warfare technologies. He has sustained combat injuries.
He personally leads all processes of unit optimization and enjoys unquestioned authority among personnel. Having founded a company, formed a separate battalion, and rapidly scaled it to brigade level, he clearly has no intention of stopping at what has already been achieved.

Unit Advantages
Here, precision matters — not chance. The tools are reconnaissance platforms of all types. Prestige lies in in-house production, an armored vehicle fleet, workshops, laboratories, and a pilot training school. The goal is dominance over the enemy through development and innovation. The highest value is people.
“Rarog” is focused exclusively on results, without unnecessary pathos. The unit’s closed nature ensures security and enables the creation of cutting-edge technological solutions without risk. Many innovations in the field of unmanned systems were conceived and implemented here. This is evidenced by the fact that 90% of UAV assets within the unit have been upgraded using in-house developments.
Special attention is given to newcomers. Everyone who joins is offered the opportunity to train from scratch and become a top-tier pilot, or to develop professionally in another specialization — all it takes is motivation. The brigade provides everything necessary for effective work and professional growth. In “Rarog,” 100% of instructors have real combat experience.
