
Vehicle Mechanic

The vehicle mechanic keeps the vehicles of an unmanned aviation unit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in working order: diagnoses faults, determines the scope of repairs, draws up parts lists and carries out mechanical work on assemblies and components. Works both in the workshop and on site so that crews can set out on time.
Responsibilities
- initial and full diagnostics of vehicles to identify faults;
- visual inspection, listening for problems and working with diagnostic equipment;
- determining the scope, complexity and necessity of repairs;
- drawing up lists of spare parts and consumables;
- repair and mechanical work on assemblies and components;
- following safety, occupational health and fire safety rules.
Requirements
- knowledge of vehicle design and experience in mechanical repair;
- ability to work with hand tools and diagnostic instruments;
- readiness to carry out repairs in the field;
- ability to independently identify the cause of a fault;
- experience with trucks is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine; transfer for those already serving;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- housing and meals provided from the moment of arrival at the unit, including during enlistment paperwork;
- transport for the candidate to the unit's location;
- uniform and equipment provided;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
