Vehicle Mechanic

The vehicle mechanic keeps the unit's vehicles and special equipment in working order: diagnoses faults, carries out routine repairs of engines, transmissions, running gear and other systems, and performs seasonal and scheduled maintenance. The work takes place both at the base and in the field, in an unmanned systems regiment where crews depend on serviceable vehicles.
Responsibilities
- servicing the unit's motor vehicles and special equipment;
- diagnosing the technical condition of vehicles and identifying faults;
- routine repair of engines, transmissions and running gear;
- repairing brake, fuel, hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
- seasonal servicing and scheduled maintenance;
- monitoring correct use of vehicles, tools and equipment;
- logging completed repair work in technical records.
Requirements
- knowledge of the design and working principles of motor vehicles and their systems;
- ability to diagnose and repair vehicles;
- skills with hand, diagnostic and measuring tools;
- ability to quickly find the cause of a fault and fix it;
- physical stamina and readiness to work in the field;
- experience as a car mechanic or at a service station is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 50,000;
- free medical care when needed;
- annual paid leave.
