Drone Engineer

The drone engineer brings back into service aircraft that return from missions in need of repair: finds the cause of failure, solders circuit boards, replaces components, and configures flight controllers and navigation systems. Also maintains ground control stations, repeaters and antennas. The work is mostly done in the field, in a State Border Guard Service drone unit.

Responsibilities

  • rapid diagnostics and fault-finding on drones;
  • fixing hardware and software faults in the field;
  • restoring drones after damage: replacing components, soldering, repairing circuit boards;
  • servicing and repairing ground control stations and signal repeaters;
  • maintaining communications systems, antennas and related equipment;
  • configuring microcontrollers, flight controllers and navigation systems.

Requirements

  • soldering skills and experience with electronic components;
  • understanding of the design of multirotor and fixed-wing drones;
  • attention to detail and readiness to work in the field;
  • experience configuring flight controllers is an advantage.

Conditions

  • service under contract or through mobilization in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine; those already serving may transfer;
  • monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
  • accommodation and meals during enlistment paperwork and throughout service;
  • the unit arranges and covers the candidate's travel to the unit;
  • uniform, equipment and meals provided;
  • annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
