The fixed-wing reconnaissance UAV operator conducts aerial reconnaissance for the unit: prepares the aircraft and its ground control station, launches the drone from a catapult or by hand, controls the flight and passes the collected imagery to the command. The measure of the work is the quality and timeliness of reconnaissance data on which the commander's decisions rest.
Responsibilities
- monitoring the technical condition of the unmanned system and its ground control station;
- checking and setting up antennas, amplifiers, batteries and communication systems;
- installing and configuring photo and video equipment and mission payloads;
- preparing and arming fixed-wing strike aircraft;
- launching the drone from a catapult, by hand or from a runway;
- controlling the flight and conducting aerial reconnaissance;
- passing collected data and imagery to the command.
Requirements
- readiness to carry out combat tasks in areas of active hostilities;
- understanding of how a fixed-wing drone and its ground station work;
- map-reading and navigation by coordinates and landmarks;
- attentiveness when preparing the system for a sortie;
- desire to learn and master new types of aircraft;
- prior drone or combat experience is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already in military service;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- full material support together with housing and meals;
- the unit arranges travel to its location;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
