
Pilot / Drone Operator
A pilot / drone operator is a military specialist responsible for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles as part of a unit. The role includes flight control, conducting reconnaissance and surveillance of terrain, as well as participation in combat missions using UAVs.
The position requires attentiveness, technical thinking, discipline, and readiness to work under conditions of increased responsibility. Prior experience is not mandatory — key factors are motivation, the ability to learn, and a basic understanding of working with technology.
Responsibilities
- execution of combat tasks or support in their execution as part of a unit;
- launch of an unmanned aerial vehicle and direct control of the flight;
- use of UAVs in combat conditions;
- conducting reconnaissance and additional reconnaissance;
- surveillance of a designated area of terrain;
- technical maintenance of unmanned aerial systems;
- compliance with military discipline and safety requirements.
Requirements
- basic theoretical or practical training in UAVs (drone structure, control principles, basic technical knowledge);
- experience operating fixed-wing UAVs and/or FPV drones will be an advantage;
- basic technical skills (smartphones, controllers, PCs);
- ability to learn quickly and absorb new information;
- responsibility and discipline;
- readiness to work in areas where combat tasks are performed;
- fitness for military service based on health condition;
- prior military service experience will be an advantage.
Conditions
- mobilization until the end of martial law or contract-based service;
- financial compensation from 20,000 to 120,000 UAH depending on tasks and place of service;
- service on a rotational basis;
- full material support;
- medical support and social guarantees in accordance with current legislation.
