Application Security Engineer

Application Security Engineer works as part of an analytical team and is responsible for securing software products and infrastructure used for data collection, storage, and analysis. The role focuses on application and API security, risk assessment, vulnerability management, and incident response within project environments.
Responsibilities
- developing cybersecurity recommendations and security practices;
- performing threat modeling, risk assessment, and security reviews of software products;
- configuring secure infrastructure and access control policies;
- identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities and configuration issues in applications and services;
- conducting regular security audits and penetration testing;
- monitoring security events and responding to incidents;
- contributing to the improvement of security processes within the team.
Requirements
- higher education, preferably in computer science or a related field;
- understanding of web application and API security principles;
- experience working with Linux systems and network protocols;
- knowledge of OWASP and common vulnerability mitigation approaches;
- practical knowledge of network security concepts, including VPN, WAF, and TLS;
- experience implementing monitoring and incident response systems;
- experience with SAST and DAST tools;
- understanding of PKI mechanisms;
- proactive mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and grow.
Conditions
- service through mobilization for the duration of martial law or under a contract;
- possibility of transfer for active service members with the consent of their immediate commander;
- primarily headquarters-based service with occasional task-related travel;
- monthly financial compensation starting from 50,000 UAH (base pay plus allowances) in accordance with current legislation;
- full-time position;
- social guarantees and annual basic leave in accordance with Ukrainian law;
- full material and medical support.
