A Communications Squad Leader supervises a small team responsible for reliable communications and coordination between unit elements. The role combines team leadership with hands-on technical work, including setup, maintenance, and rapid recovery of communication equipment.
Responsibilities
- lead and manage the squad, maintaining discipline and operational readiness;
- set up, maintain, and repair radios, field phones, and other communication equipment;
- deploy communication assets and ensure stable links between command posts and operating elements;
- follow confidentiality requirements and use technical information protection tools within assigned duties;
- maintain technical records, track equipment and supplies, and report to the chain of command.
Requirements
- understanding of basic radio engineering principles and communication systems;
- practical experience with modern communication equipment setup and maintenance;
- leadership skills and readiness to be accountable for team performance;
- attention to detail, discipline, and ability to work effectively in a team.
Conditions
- military service under contract or within a mobilization framework;
- transfer options for currently serving personnel subject to command approval;
- provision of required equipment and service gear;
- training and preparation before starting duties in the role;
- annual leave in line with Ukrainian law;
- service within an unmanned systems unit.
