A Surgeon provides emergency surgical care to wounded service members, stabilizes critically injured patients, and supports their medical evacuation. The role requires working under high-pressure conditions, strict adherence to clinical protocols, and close coordination with medical staff.
Responsibilities
- performing examinations, diagnostics, and emergency surgical interventions in accordance with damage control protocols;
- stabilizing critically wounded patients prior to evacuation to rear medical facilities;
- maintaining medical records, completing casualty documentation, and preparing reports;
- coordinating actions with medical personnel during surgical procedures and medical evacuation;
- participating in preventive measures aimed at reducing wound complications and surgical infections.
Requirements
- higher medical education with specialization in surgery and a valid professional license or certificate;
- at least 2 years of independent experience performing emergency surgical procedures;
- ability to work effectively under high stress and time pressure;
- responsibility and rapid clinical decision-making skills;
- prior military or military medical experience is an advantage.
Conditions
- service through mobilization for the duration of martial law or under a contract;
- possibility of transfer for active service members with the consent of their immediate commander;
- eligibility for service in support or training units based on medical assessment;
- monthly financial compensation up to 120,000 UAH depending on assigned tasks and service location;
