An EW/ESM systems operator is responsible for detecting, analyzing, and countering electronic threats within the unit’s area of responsibility. The role involves radio frequency spectrum analysis, signal suppression, identification of enemy electronic assets, and maintenance of EW equipment. The primary focus is effective counter-UAV actions, operational accuracy, and procedural compliance.
Responsibilities
- Detecting enemy UAVs and suppressing their radio signals in coordination with operators;
- Analyzing the radio frequency spectrum to identify potentially dangerous signals and determine their origin and characteristics;
- Detecting and identifying electronic signals associated with enemy EW assets;
- Generating interference or applying other countermeasures against enemy electronic systems;
- Maintaining EW equipment, including regular inspections and minor repairs;
- Ensuring communications and preparing operational reports;
- Preparing for combat operations in accordance with established procedures;
- Conducting training and self-development activities.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of EW and ESM principles or readiness to undergo training;
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work with technical data;
