Humanitarian Demining Engineer

The humanitarian demining engineer makes the terrain safe for the unit to operate on: conducts engineering reconnaissance, inspects and neutralizes explosive objects, and checks belongings, premises and vehicles. The work takes place near the combat zone, often on short notice and alongside dog handlers; the role also includes teaching personnel the basics of mine safety.
Responsibilities
- engineering reconnaissance of terrain, including on short-notice tasks;
- inspecting and neutralizing explosive objects;
- checking belongings, premises and vehicles for dangerous objects;
- accompanying dog handlers during searches for explosive objects;
- hands-on assistance with handling munitions and initiation devices;
- teaching personnel the basics of mine safety and engineering reconnaissance.
Requirements
- discipline and strict adherence to safety procedures;
- psychological resilience and the ability to make decisions in difficult situations;
- readiness for extended stays near the combat zone;
- willingness to learn and improve in the field of explosive ordnance work;
- experience handling explosives and munitions is an advantage;
- combat experience or higher education is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
