Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician

The explosive ordnance disposal technician keeps the ground the unit moves through safe: surveys areas, approach and evacuation routes for explosive hazards, locates unexploded ordnance and destroys it by controlled detonation. Escorts groups during terrain reconnaissance and carries out demolition work as tasked. The work is close to the combat zone, where mistakes cost lives.
Responsibilities
- surveying areas, approach and evacuation routes for explosive hazards;
- locating, inspecting and destroying explosive ordnance;
- escorting groups during terrain reconnaissance;
- demolition of ground, structures and objects as tasked;
- disposal of unserviceable ordnance by controlled detonation;
- following safety rules when handling explosives.
Requirements
- psychological resilience and sound judgement under pressure;
- attention to detail, responsibility and discipline;
- readiness for extended periods close to the combat zone;
- knowledge and experience of handling explosives is an advantage;
- experience in humanitarian demining is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with their commander's consent;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- housing, meals, uniform and equipment provided;
