Reconnaissance UAS Pilot (Mavic/Autel)

A Reconnaissance UAS Pilot (Mavic/Autel) is a specialist who conducts aerial reconnaissance and collects airborne imagery to support decision-making on the ground. The role focuses on careful flight planning, stable camera work and navigation, rapid interpretation of what is observed, and timely reporting to the teams that use the information.

Responsibilities

  • operate reconnaissance uncrewed aircraft to conduct aerial surveillance and collect information;
  • plan and execute flight tasks based on the mission;
  • select flight routes with consideration for terrain, weather, and potential air-defense threats;
  • observe from the air, capture imagery, and annotate relevant changes in the situation;
  • analyze collected materials and report findings to operational teams in the required format;
  • communicate with the duty operations coordinator and provide concise situation updates;
  • follow safe operating procedures for uncrewed aircraft systems;
  • keep the aircraft mission-ready at the user-maintenance level (checks, fault identification, handoff for service through standard procedures);
  • follow information-security rules when handling video feeds, coordinates, and mission materials.

Requirements

  • confident use of mapping software and navigation tools;
  • attention to detail, responsibility, and discipline;
  • ability to follow safety and confidentiality procedures;
  • basic computer skills and ability to work with communications equipment;
  • readiness to operate in a dynamic environment, including an active combat area;
  • prior experience with UAS/drones is an advantage (training may be provided);
  • basic understanding of flight and navigation principles is an advantage.

Conditions

  • mobilization for the period of martial law or contract-based service;
  • training and upskilling through training centers or manufacturer-led programs;
  • provision of necessary equipment and gear;
  • annual leave in line with applicable regulations;
  • pay: UAH 120,000/month while assigned to combat tasks.
