The head of the combat stress control group leads the psychological team and is responsible for the psychological support of personnel. Combines organizational work with direct psychological assistance and works with commanders, military medics and chaplains.
Responsibilities
- organize and manage the work of the psychological team;
- conduct individual and group psychodiagnostic assessments of personnel;
- provide psychological first aid to service members;
- work with unit commanders, military medics and chaplains;
- keep the group's official records;
- travel to combat areas 1–2 times a month, not to the front line.
Requirements
- higher education in medicine or psychology (psychiatry, clinical or medical psychology), confident PC skills for reporting;
- service as a military psychologist or psychiatrist, or at least 2 years of civilian practice as a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist;
- in-depth knowledge of psychodiagnostic tools: screening for combat stress, post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide risk;
- experience in crisis counseling and trauma work;
- command of psychological first aid, psychological intervention and short-term therapy methods (cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR);
- ability to organize the work of a team of specialists;
- ability to communicate effectively with command, medics and chaplains in combat conditions.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 55,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided; statutory social benefits;
- annual leave and additional rest days;
- training and professional development in the field.
