The platoon commander leads an unmanned systems platoon on reconnaissance and strike missions and is accountable for the results of each crew. Assigns tasks, makes decisions under combat conditions, trains the personnel and keeps the equipment ready. The platoon operates in different sectors within an assault unmanned systems brigade, in coordination with neighbouring units.
Responsibilities
- leading a UAV platoon during missions;
- organizing reconnaissance and strike missions with unmanned aerial systems;
- verifying the accuracy of collected information and adjusting fire;
- making decisions under combat conditions and supervising the crews;
- training and coaching the platoon's personnel;
- keeping the platoon combat-ready and its equipment serviceable;
- coordinating with other units on joint missions.
Requirements
- at least one year of military service, preferably in a related specialty;
- leadership and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure;
- confident command of modern unmanned aerial systems;
- knowledge of tactics and the principles of employing a UAV unit;
- responsibility, discipline and focus on results;
- willingness to master new types of unmanned systems.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, subject to the commander's approval;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees;
- assistance from enlistment through to service.
