The combat medic gives first aid to the wounded and sick directly in the area of operations and takes part in evacuating casualties from the battlefield to the next level of care. Works alongside the combat crews of an unmanned systems brigade, trains personnel in tactical medicine and keeps track of first-aid kits and medical supplies.
Responsibilities
- providing first aid for wounds, illnesses and poisoning;
- evacuating the wounded from the battlefield to the next level of care;
- carrying out tasks with the unit in the area of combat operations;
- training personnel in tactical medicine and preparing combat medics;
- taking part in medical check-ups of personnel;
- keeping first-aid kits and the unit's medical supplies fully stocked.
Requirements
- medical training or experience in providing pre-hospital first aid;
- physical stamina to evacuate a wounded soldier with gear;
- ability to act calmly under fire and in stressful conditions;
- readiness to train personnel in tactical medicine.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the commander's consent;
- field service in the area of combat operations;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees under Ukrainian law.
