The signals intelligence and electronic warfare operator monitors the radio spectrum in the area where an unmanned systems brigade operates, detects enemy signals and suppresses them with specialized equipment. The work runs in shifts and involves long periods of monitoring the airwaves, coordination with neighbouring units and regular reports to the command.
Responsibilities
- monitoring and analyzing the radio frequency spectrum;
- detecting and jamming enemy radio signals;
- setting up and maintaining signals intelligence and electronic warfare equipment;
- assessing how effectively electronic warfare assets are being used;
- coordinating with neighbouring units to secure an advantage on the airwaves;
- keeping work logs and reporting on the electronic environment.
Requirements
- basic knowledge of radio engineering and how radio waves propagate;
- attentiveness and the ability to work with monotonous data for long periods;
- readiness to learn specialized signals intelligence and electronic warfare equipment;
- discipline and strict handling of classified information.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, subject to the commander's consent;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 120,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided in full;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
