The unit psychologist is responsible for maintaining the moral and psychological well-being of personnel and providing professional support to service members. The role involves working with combat trauma, conducting post-mission decompression, preventing crisis situations, and strengthening unit resilience.
Responsibilities
- conduct individual consultations (working with trauma, loss, and acute stress states);
- monitor the moral and psychological state of the unit and identify risk groups;
- organize psychological recovery and decompression activities after combat missions;
- prevent PTSD, professional burnout, and suicidal ideation;
- conduct training sessions on psychological resilience and group cohesion;
- implement crisis intervention protocols and provide psychological first aid.
Requirements
- degree in Psychology (specialization in Clinical Psychology is an advantage);
- completed or ongoing psychotherapy training (CBT, EMDR, or other recognized methods);
- at least 2 years of practical experience (minimum 1 year working with war trauma);
- proficiency in psychological first aid and interviewing techniques;
- ability to remain calm in critical situations and maintain strict confidentiality;
- fitness for military service for health reasons.
