A Combat Medic provides first aid and basic medical support to unit personnel, ensures medical support during operations, and maintains the basic medical readiness of the unit. The role combines working with wounded and ill service members, maintaining medical records, and operating in field conditions as part of a military unit.
Responsibilities
- evacuation of wounded personnel to the battalion medical point
- providing first aid and basic medical care to service members
- medical support for ill personnel within the unit
- monitoring and recording the health status of personnel within assigned responsibilities
- maintaining medical documentation of the unit
- assembling, checking, and monitoring individual first aid kits for service members
- performing assigned tasks as part of the unit
- following command orders and military discipline requirements
Requirements
- fitness for military service based on health and psychological condition
- adequate level of physical fitness
- readiness to work under increased physical and psychological load
- basic knowledge of first aid and emergency medical care
- completed medical courses or a tactical medicine course is an advantage
- completed basic military training is an advantage
- combat experience is an advantage
Conditions
- service through mobilization for the duration of martial law or under a contract
- possibility of transfer for active service members with the consent of their immediate commander
- monthly financial compensation in the range of 50,000–120,000 UAH in accordance with current legislation
- provision of uniforms, equipment, and necessary supplies
- social guarantees and annual basic leave in accordance with Ukrainian law
