A data engineer is responsible for building and maintaining data infrastructure, including ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouse models, and datasets for analytics. The role involves working with multiple database types, optimizing queries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The primary focus is data quality, process reliability, and solution scalability.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines for data processing from multiple sources;
- Designing and modeling data warehouses and storage structures;
- Optimizing data processing and storage workflows;
- Preparing structured datasets for the BI team;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify optimal solutions;
- Ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability;
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience in data engineering or a related field;
- Proven ability to build ETL/ELT pipelines;
- Experience with relational, NOSQL, and columnar databases;
- Strong proficiency in PYTHON and SQL, including POSTGRES;
- Experience optimizing SQL queries;
- Experience with AIRFLOW or similar orchestration tools is an advantage;
- Understanding of DEVOPS practices, including containerization, CI/CD, and IAC;
- Experience with BI tools and TERRAFORM is an advantage.
