The combat medic gives first aid to the wounded where they fall and carries out evacuation on foot to the handover point. Between missions, trains personnel in tactical medicine at the TCCC CLS level, runs classes under the programme set by the head of the medical service and checks that individual first aid kits are complete. The work is done in the field, in the combat zone.
Responsibilities
- giving first aid to the wounded in the field;
- evacuating the wounded on foot to the handover point;
- reconnoitring the terrain in the unit's interests;
- training personnel in tactical medicine at the TCCC CLS level;
- running classes under the programme developed by the head of the medical service;
- checking that personnel's individual first aid kits are complete.
Requirements
- good physical fitness and stamina;
- readiness to work in an active combat zone;
- stress resilience and the ability to act in critical situations;
- ability to teach others and explain things clearly;
- a completed tactical medicine course is an advantage;
- military service experience is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 50,000 to UAH 120,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;
- annual paid leave plus additional leave;
- benefits, insurance and free medical care under the law.
