The command sergeant is the commander's right hand in a platoon, company or battalion: coordinates the sergeants, organizes classes and training, keeps an eye on the state of weapons and equipment, the living conditions and discipline of personnel, and reports to the commander on readiness for tasks. Daily work with people that rests on authority and personal example.
Responsibilities
- coordinating the work of the platoon, company or battalion sergeants;
- organizing and running classes, training sessions and exercises for personnel;
- checking the technical condition of weapons, equipment and ammunition;
- maintaining military discipline and regulation order in the unit;
- overseeing the living conditions, supply and morale of personnel;
- reporting to the commander on the unit's state and readiness for tasks.
Requirements
- experience leading personnel in a military unit;
- knowledge of military regulations and the basics of unit management;
- leadership qualities and the ability to motivate people;
- skills in working with personnel and resolving conflicts;
- accountability for decisions and setting a personal example for subordinates.
Conditions
- sergeant-level position: service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving, with the commander's consent;
- monthly pay from UAH 23,000 to UAH 123,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided, plus statutory benefits;
- annual paid leave, additional leave and statutory social guarantees.
