The head of the battalion medical station organizes medical support for the unit: leads its medics, treats the wounded and sick and arranges their evacuation to hospitals. Within an unmanned systems brigade, the role combines hands-on medical practice with managing people, supplies and records, often close to active combat.
Responsibilities
- organizing the work of the medical station and leading its staff;
- providing medical care to the wounded and sick at battalion level;
- arranging the evacuation of the wounded and sick to hospitals;
- accompanying the wounded between stages of medical evacuation;
- keeping medical records and registers of the wounded and sick;
- monitoring stocks of medical supplies and medicines and replenishing them in time.
Requirements
- higher medical education in a relevant specialty;
- knowledge of tactical medicine protocols and medical evacuation procedures;
- ability to lead people and make decisions under stress;
- readiness to work in an active combat zone;
- experience running a medical station is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the commander's consent;
- monthly pay from UAH 26,000 to UAH 126,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;
- annual paid leave plus additional leave;
- statutory benefits and social guarantees.
