Signals Intelligence Technician

The signals intelligence technician sets up and maintains the positions from which the unit tracks enemy communications and drone control links. Installs, aligns and camouflages antennas, tunes the antenna feed line, fixes faults in equipment and cable runs and keeps records of the equipment's condition. Hands-on work in the field, often close to the line of contact.
Responsibilities
- setting up and maintaining signals intelligence positions;
- installing, aligning and camouflaging antenna systems;
- tuning antennas for the best possible signal reception;
- adjusting and maintaining the antenna feed line;
- fixing faults in equipment and cable runs at the position;
- keeping records of the technical condition of assigned equipment.
Requirements
- understanding of how radio electronics works and technical curiosity;
- hands-on experience: repairing equipment, running cables, soldering;
- physical stamina, as the equipment has to be carried;
- readiness to work in the field close to the line of contact;
- experience as an electrician, installer, telecoms technician or radio amateur is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with their commander's consent;
- monthly pay from UAH 50,000 to UAH 120,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided, plus military service benefits;
- annual paid leave, additional leave and statutory social guarantees.
