The signals platoon senior sergeant keeps an unmanned systems brigade reliably connected both at its home base and in the area of operations. The work combines deploying radio, satellite and network systems, keeping account of communications equipment and managing the platoon's specialists; results depend on technical competence and the ability to organise people.
Responsibilities
- setting up DMR radio communications with repeaters and radio relay links;
- deploying satellite communications on Starlink and Tooway terminals at the base and in the area of operations;
- configuring networks, VPN tunnels, remote management and access rights;
- installing, updating and supporting the related software;
- keeping account of communications equipment and monitoring its servicing and timely replacement;
- managing the platoon's personnel.
Requirements
- higher technical education and experience leading teams of technical specialists;
- experience with a mobile network operator, an internet provider or as a DevOps engineer;
- understanding of communications systems, from power supply and protection to equipment specifications;
- ability to coordinate radio network matters with neighbouring units;
- reading knowledge of English for technical documentation;
- programming skills, knowledge of Linux and experience with software-defined radio (SDR) are an advantage.
Conditions
- sergeant position: service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 50,000 to UAH 120,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;

- annual paid leave plus 10 days of additional leave for family reasons;
