Fixed-Wing UAV Pilot Instructor
Non-Combat Roles20 000-50 000 UAHUAVs and UGVs
The fixed-wing UAV pilot instructor takes trainees from theory to their first solo flight. Plans training missions and routes, prepares the aircraft and assesses the weather before each flight, oversees the full cycle of a training sortie and supports the group throughout the course. The outcome is crews ready for combat work with fixed-wing drones.
Responsibilities
- teaching classes according to the approved training programme;
- planning training missions and flight routes;
- assessing weather conditions and servicing equipment before a flight;
- conducting and overseeing the full cycle of a training flight;
- supporting trainees throughout the course;
- preparing and updating training materials.
Requirements
- combat experience operating fixed-wing UAVs;
- hands-on experience piloting fixed-wing UAVs;
- knowledge of the basics of aerodynamics, electronics, navigation and radio communications;
- map-reading skills and experience with flight planning software;
- a military qualification related to unmanned aircraft systems;
- teaching or instructing experience is an advantage;
- an instructor's certificate is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 50,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided in full;
- annual paid leave of 30 calendar days and up to 10 additional days for family reasons;
- support from the unit's psychologists when needed.
