Machine Learning Engineer

The machine learning engineer builds computer vision models that help drone operators spot targets in video faster: prepares and labels datasets, trains and validates models and brings them to deployment on onboard computers such as Jetson. The work is within the development team, alongside backend engineers, with experiment tracking and model versioning.
Responsibilities
- training and validating computer vision models for the unit's tasks;
- preparing, cleaning and labeling datasets from combat video;
- optimizing models to run on edge devices, in particular Jetson;
- integrating models into production services together with backend engineers;
- evaluating recognition quality against metrics and analyzing errors;
- tracking experiments and versioning models.
Requirements
- at least a year of hands-on machine learning experience, commercial or on personal projects;
- knowledge of Python and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, NumPy, OpenCV;
- understanding of overfitting, validation and metrics, basic model debugging;
- understanding of typical computer vision tasks;
- basic skills with Linux and Git;
- technical English at intermediate level;
- experience with MLOps practices and Jetson devices is an advantage.
Conditions
- service under contract or through mobilization; transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- monthly pay from UAH 20,000 to UAH 50,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;
- annual paid leave and statutory social guarantees.
