The battalion chief of staff is the officer through whom all command and control of the units flows: distributes tasks among the staff officers, plans combat training, keeps combat documentation and monitors the completion of assigned tasks. Within an unmanned systems brigade, the role demands organization, quick decisions and constant contact with the units.
Responsibilities
- organizing the work of the battalion staff and distributing tasks among officers;
- keeping the battalion's records and combat documentation;
- planning combat training for the units;
- organizing communication and reporting within the battalion;
- monitoring the completion of combat tasks and the state of the units;
- helping prepare the commander's decisions and coordinating their implementation.
Requirements
- higher education, military or general;
- knowledge of military decision-making procedures and the field manuals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- ability to make quick, independent decisions under stress;
- ability to organize the work of a team of staff officers;
- responsibility, discipline and respect for the chain of command.
Conditions
- officer position; service under contract or through mobilization, transfer for those already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the commander's consent;
- monthly pay from UAH 26,000 to UAH 126,000;
- uniform, equipment and meals provided;
- annual paid leave, additional leave and statutory benefits;
- statutory social guarantees.
